We hope you've rested your legs because the most intense weekend of the year in Lille has officially arrived. The Braderie doesn't start until Saturday morning? Technically, yes. In reality, from Friday evening onwards, the city will already be anything but quiet. So between two treasure-hunting sessions, a plate of mussels and fries, and that absolutely essential purchase of a 12-kilo antique mirror, here are the must-do events for your weekend.

WE'RE KICKING OFF THE BRADERIE A DAY EARLY, VINYL AND COCKTAILS IN HAND
Officially, the Braderie only starts Saturday morning. Unofficially, Lille will already be in full swing from Friday evening. At Maloot, the hi-fi bar launches its special Braderie weekend from 6pm with Rocta, Thibbv and Yamos on the decks. On the menu: vinyl, cocktails and house and minimal house sounds in an atmosphere that's bound to be a bit more intimate than the massive outdoor events of the weekend. Admission is

LET'S START THE BRADERIE BEFORE EVERYONE ELSE AT ST-SO
Why wait until Saturday 8am when you can start the festivities Friday night? The St-So Bistrot is hosting its Pre-Braderie from 6pm with 8.5 hours of completely free music. We kick off outside with a blank canvas from Lille collective Maroilles Records and DJ sets from Sweetance and Cedrela, before continuing inside with disco, house, UK garage, techno and retro sounds. The music keeps going until 2:30am and the venue will exceptionally close at 3am.

OBVIOUSLY, WE'RE GETTING UP FOR THE FLEA MARKET
This time, we're really doing it. Saturday, September 5 at 8am, the Lille Flea Market officially kicks off its 34 hours of treasure hunting. And this year, instead of wandering aimlessly until your calves give out, you pick your spot based on what you're after. For antiques and lovely vintage finds, head straight to the Esplanade, the boul
ward of Liberty, Louis XIV and the surroundings of the Fine Arts Palace. For more unexpected finds, head to the streets occupied by locals. And for bikes, Wazemmes is organizing its specialized flea market on Saturday. WE'RE GETTING TATTOOED RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BRADERIE
This is probably one of the coolest novelties of this 2026 edition. For the very first time, the Lille Tattoo Market takes over Palais Rameau during the two days of the Braderie. Under the great glass roof, tattoo artists, artists and creators gather around dozens of different worlds. You can come scout out an artist, discuss a custom project or simply give in to a flash tattoo and leave inked the same day. Drinks and food will also be available on site. And for those who preferyou can just come and look around, entry is only 3€.
Quick tip : bring cash. Some vendors take cards, but not all of them. It would be a shame if the old school snake of your dreams slipped away because of a payment terminal issue.

HITTING UP THE FLEA MARKET WITH THE KIDS AT ST-SO
While some adults have been haggling over a 1960s buffet since 7 in the morning, the little treasure hunters have their own special event. The traditional Kids' Flea Market sets up this Saturday at Saint Sauveur Station. Young shoppers from Lille, Hellemmes, and Lomme will be able to sell their stuff from 8am to 7pm. And to take the fun up a notch, there's a workshop where they can make a keychain shaped like a 3D-printed mold between 10am and 5pm.

Back to Cours St-So, where the BBBig BBBraderie kicks into high gear on Saturday. The outdoor stage welcomes Numérobé and his lofi electronica, the North African electronic sounds of Omar EK, then DJ sets from Ma$$iko and Zaatar until 2am. Entry remains free, all four bars are running all day long, and the deckchairs are ready for those who may have underestimated how exhausting it is to walk since 8am.

WE PARTY UNTIL THE BREAK OF DAWN
At 2am, when St-So turns down the volume, there's no way you're heading home to bed. Braderie Saturday is probably the only night of the year when
you can reasonably chain 15 kilometers of fun and an evening until 6 in the morning.Several Lille venues have indeed planned to go the distance. For bass music lovers, the Old Dirty Biniou is organizing its Braddadan from 9pm to 4am with drum & bass, jungle, dubstep, breakbeat and UK garage. Over at the Bistrot Track, ISEKOI Radio takes the decks with bass, electro, techno and UK garage before a closing set by Murmurations until 4am.Want to make it until sunrise? The Slay Club is going for eight hours of non-stop pop, from 10pm to 6am, while La Sono takes over the 3rd floor of Joy from 11:30pm to 6am with a much harder night featuring hardbounce, techno and hardtechno. And for a slightly more relaxed optionlle, the Caf&Diskaire is organizing its special Braderie Caf&DJ's from 6pm to 2am with around ten DJs and a joyful mix of vinyl, zouk, house, post-punk, disco and indie. In short, no matter how you define a good night out, Lille seems to have decided that nobody will be sleeping this Saturday. Just remember to avoid scheduling a flea market appointment at 7am Sunday morning.

WE TRY ONE LAST BARGAIN HUNTING SESSION
The Sunday of Braderie has a very different vibe from Saturday. The finest pieces may have already disappeared, it's true, but it's also when negotiating becomes much more interesting. A few hours before everything gets packed up, some sellers suddenly become far more willing to let their furniture go rather than haul it back to the truck. The Braderie officially ends at 6pm Sunday. Your last chance then to unearth that little gem, or to go back and grab that object you spotted Saturday and, surprisingly, you're still thinking about 24 hours later.

If Sunday morning your body tells you that a second full day in the crowds might not be a brilliant idea, head to Roubaix. Like every first Sunday of the month, the permanent collections at La Piscine - Musée d'art et d'industrie André Diligent in Roubaix are accessible for free.

LET'S EXTEND THE BARGAIN FAIR SPIRIT WITH A GREAT FLEMISH CELEBRATION
Not quite ready for the weekend to end? Head to Bailleul, where the Hommelpap Festival makes its comeback this Sunday, September 6th for its 16th edition. We're leaving the kilomplenty of Lille stalls for a much more Flemish vibe, but always with that little festive, down-to-earth feel that's perfect for the weekend. The Hommelpap celebrates local traditions around hops — "hommel" in Flemish — in a city where brewing culture is genuinely part of the landscape. A good option for those who've already given their all at the Braderie on Saturday and want to extend the weekend without diving straight back into the Lille crowds. And after two days of mussels and fries, heading off to celebrate hops in French Flanders actually seems pretty fitting.

GENTLY WINDING DOWN THE BRADERIE AT ST-SO
After spending two days negotiating, walking, dancing, and probably eating a questionable amount of fries, St-So has planned a gentle landing. On Sunday, the BBBig BBBraderie ditches the heavy bass for aa more peaceful vibe on the terrace with Alma Rechtman performing live solo, blending intimate pop and hybrid songwriting, followed by Thee Sleeper on DJ set. Deckchairs, pétanque, terrace, a few drinks and music until 9pm: that's exactly the kind of Sunday evening we'll be craving.
