A Monday Like No Other
As the vendors pack up their stalls and the city takes a breather after a two-day marathon, it's time for a little solidarity! On September 8th at 11:45 am, Rihour Square will turn into a huge friendly table: Linkee, the organization focused on food redistribution, and Arnaud Meunier, the owner of La Chicorée brewery, are hosting the Great Solidarity Meal of Braderie Monday.

From Recovery to Plates
All weekend long, an army of volunteers will be collecting unsold goods from merchants and market vendors. Several tons of food saved, transformed into hot meals or packs distributed to students and local associations (Restos du Cœur, Red Cross, La Brèche…). In 2024, no less than 9,600 meals were provided. This year, the goal is even more ambitious.
Mussels and Fries for Everyone (or Almost)
On the menu, of course, are the classics of the Braderie (mussels and fries will definitely be there). Around 1,000 beneficiaries are expected, including 200 students through Linkee. It's a way not to leave them out during a time when, let’s remember, one in two students regularly skips meals due to financial constraints.

Want to lend a helping hand ?
If you want to get involved, the association is always looking for volunteers to help with collection and distribution. It's a chance to experience the Braderie from the inside and to give true meaning to the word “friendliness.”
