It's a rooftop of a whole new kind that was inaugurated in 2022 next to Lille, in Villeneuve d'Ascq. Suspended and shared garden, a huge restaurant and bar... We'll tell you all about this new gem of the Lille metropolis.

Off to the Maillerie in Villeneuve d'Ascq to discover a unique place in France: The Hanging Gardens. It's a rooftop of 5000m2 that wears many hats. On one side, there is a vegetated area of 2700m2 that includes private vegetable gardens, around fifty different plants, a collective garden, and even a garden center! A breath of fresh air that will do wonders for the people of Lille.

On the other side, we have the terrace of Brique House and their taproom HEAVY BRIQUE (formerly HTSM) located on the ground floor. And let me tell you, it's unbelievable because their rooftop terrace is a whopping 1200m2. Absolutely crazy! On-site: 10 draft beers, delicious food to grab on the go (hot-dog, truffle sandwich, arancinis, grilled cheese...). Plus there are lounge chairs to relax in the sun... Basically, it's the place to be this summer. During the week, the terrace opens at 5pm and on weekends at... 12pm! Enjoy!

Basically, we are clearly on a gem that is likely to become essential in the Lille metropolitan area. A green oasis on a rooftop with a bar and restaurant... What more could you ask for?
