The Water Festivals: the floating festival docks in Lille with shows and cruises!

If you're used to us talking about open air events with your feet in the grass or music festivals with loud beats in your ears until 8 in the morning, know that the festival we're going to present to you today is a little gem that's almost nothing like that. It's all about the Water Festivals, a floating event with lots of cruises in Lille and its surroundings!

The Water Festival is back in Wambrechies this weekend, from May 31st to June 2nd exactly. As the name suggests, it will be a festive weekend centered around water. On the program? Nightly shows, parades, activities, and even cruises! Bringing together several partner cities around Lille, the Water Festivals will take place on the Deûle and the Lys rivers.

Regarding cruises, they will be organized in groups of 6, each with a specific theme: Nostalgia, Magic, Café, Nature, Heritage... You can already book your spots on the barges that will be waiting for you at different locations: in Marquette-lez-Lille, Deûlémont, Warneton or in Wambrechies. "Boat rides are back this year and offer you the chance to discover the territory at the gentle pace of the Deûle and Lys waves. Enjoy the tranquility on board our three newly arrived ships for the Water Festivals. Whether on Laléa, the Mimino or the Décidée, take the time to appreciate all the aspects of our territory."

The entertainment activities will total up to 80, quite impressive! Among the highlights, don't miss the Calypso show on June 1 and 2 in Saint-André and Quesnoy-sur-Deûle, and the next day in Wambrechies and Deûlémont. "The underwater world takes over our streets for a parade.Humorous and completely aquatic! These musicians from the seas will liven things up for you and play the favorite music of octopuses, fish, and crustaceans! An funky universe created by the troupe The Adorners that smells like the sea!

Next up will be a night show on the theme of the Abyss: "Dive into the discovery of marine and enchanted creatures and explore this wonderful underwater world with ABYSSES, a show by the company Remue Ménage! The scorpionfish and seahorses appear before us accompanied by other animals from the deep sea, to tell you their story. The domain of Vert Bois will be the perfect place to come and meet them. In the middle of this green setting, you will appreciate the beauty of their dances and the abyssal colors of their world. These aquatic creatures will leave the next day to the Fort Leisure Base and will stroll among you before returning to the depths, leaving behind an explosion of colors in the sky."
