Twenty years is definitely worth celebrating! This year, the Happy Days are celebrating two decades of friendship with the Belgian troupe Zonzo Compagnie, the creators of the Big Bang Festival, which delights young audiences worldwide. Every year in November, the Lille Opera turns into a cultural playground where kids and grown-ups can explore music in a whole new way. The 2024 edition promises to be a visual and auditory feast with a special selection of shows and performances crafted to captivate all generations.

Shows for All Ages
Kids will dive into original shows designed to amaze. UnRAVELed welcome children from 6 years old to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of Maurice Ravel, featuring bright staging and enchanting music. For the little ones (starting from 6 months), NezQuiCoule is a fun opera that takes us on a journey through the human body, set to the rhythms of classics by Purcell, Offenbach, and Gershwin. Another highlight is Radio Lomax, a show crafted as a musical world tour where voices and instruments will help you rediscover traditional songs from the archives of the famous ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax.

Fun workshops and activities throughout the Opera
The Happy Days are also a chance to explore the hidden corners of the Opera. The creative workshops from LaM (the modern art museum in Villeneuve d’Ascq) will be there to unleash the imagination of little artists. The brass band La Murga Armada will set the forecourt and the Opera's lounges ablaze with festive and Latin sounds, and the installation Hip Hub will turn dance movements into music thanks to a virtual orchestra, providing a sensory immersion you won't want to miss! And to top it all off, the fifth-grade students from Moulin-Pergaud School will be on site as ambassadors to guide visitors.
Happy Days means free entry for many activities and shows, with affordable ticketed performances at just €3. The box office for paid shows is open online and available on-site on the day of the event. To ensure a delightful experience, family-friendly services are provided: stroller parking, a quiet space for little ones, and easy access throughout the building.
