La Condition Publique turns into a giant (and joyfully noisy) workshop
Each year, the Art Braderie has the same effect: you think you’re entering a traditional art market, but you suddenly find yourself immersed in an ultra-vibrant creative chaos where things are piercing, cutting, sanding, painting, and welding… live!

For this 34th edition, over 150 artists, designers, brilliant DIYers, and creatives from all over France, Europe, and even Quebec will come together for 24 hours to transform tons of reclaimed materials into unique artworks. The concept, launched in 1991 by Fanny Bouyagui and now a cult favorite, remains unchanged: artists create on-site, visitors wander among the workshops, chat, negotiate, and leave with pieces priced between 1 and 400€. The Condition Publique turns into a gigantic lab of creativity.
The event is also part of the Nuit des Arts in Roubaix, a time when the entire city opens its doors to artists. It's a true creative whirlwind that is uniquely Roubaix.

Arts, recycling, concerts, and family fun: the best mix for the weekend
Beyond the arty shopping, the Braderie has become a playground for absolutely everyone. Between the stalls, you’ll find a workshop for creating instruments made from recycled materials, then a little further along, there are electro-acoustic concerts or a “bike-instrument” that brings smiles all around.

The kids have their workshops, the treasure hunters have their finds, design lovers have their gems, night owls have their Saturday night, and the curious… well, they have their dose of inspiration for the year.
All of this is supported by a highly engaged model: 2,000 m³ of recycled materials collected every year from local businesses, a committed circular economy, and an atmosphere that makes you want to support the region's creatives even more.
