It was in 1990 that the people of Dijon discovered the recreational park of Toison d'Or. As its name indicates, it was located right next to the shopping center. Covering a little over 12 hectares, this leisure place belonged in part to Walibi and the Lyonnaise des eaux.
**Fifteen attractions**
Children and adults could enjoy two roller coasters, a Canadian river, a 3D cinema, a carousel, a flying carpet, and even the largest maze in Europe! Diving shows from a 30-meter high pole were also offered. All of this for 90 francs per person (22.17 euros). This price also included entry to the Cyclades aquatic center, which closed in 2012.
**Only 3 years of operation**

It went bankrupt just 6 months after its opening, and didn't attract enough visitors to be profitable. By January 1993, the Toison d'Or recreational park was placed in judicial liquidation. It would permanently close its doors a few months later.
A second life
Although its existence was short-lived, the park still got a second life. In March of the same year, all the rides were bought by Nigloland, an amusement park located in Dolancourt, just under 2 hours from Dijon. And in 1994, the City transformed this place into the Garden Park that we know today, with its children's games, animal park, and skate park.
