Who's climbing, who's falling? The top 5 high schools in Dijon for 2025
Every year, it’s a bit of a truth moment for schools: the ranking of general and technological high schools in Dijon has just been published, and it comes with some surprising twists! When we compare it to 2024, we can say there’s been quite a shake-up at the top of the podium.
In 2024, the throne was held by Notre-Dame private high school, shining with a score of 14.72/20 and an impressive 99% success rate at the baccalaureate. In 2025, surprise: Notre-Dame tumbles down to 6th place with a score of 11.90/20. This fall makes way for a new champion: the Charles de Gaulle international high school makes a spectacular leap and takes the 1st place with 14.05/20!
Another plot twist: Montchapet high school, which was "only" 5th last year with 12.24/20, climbs all the way up to the 3rd step of the podium, even surpassing the legendary…that Carnot is moving down to 4th place. The Saint Joseph high school is climbing from 3rd to 2nd place, proving its consistency.
For the curious ones, here is how these rankings are calculated
At the bottom of the table, the competition is fierce
On the downside, there’s also some movement. In 2024, the last in the class was the Simone Weil high school, with a score of 9.23/20. It has vanished from the radar this year (closure, merger? mystery), leaving the red lantern to the private establishment Les Arcades, which finishes last in 2025 with 8.69/20.
Among other struggling establishments, we still find Le Castel, Hippolyte Fontaine, and Gustave Eiffel, who are sticking to the bottom of the table.
But let's remind ourselves: these numbers don’t tell the whole story. A high school isn’t just about passing rates. It’s also about dedicated teachers, the classroom atmosphere, and the students’ experiences.
rojets, different journeys. In short, this ranking is an indicator, not the final verdict.
