Every year, the website l'Étudiant reveals the best public or private schools in France. The latest ranking for the year 2024 has just been released. While Parisian high schools occupy the top 23 spots, some high schools in Dijon stand out with very encouraging scores, while others find themselves lower in the national ranking.

The best high school in the country, the one that received the highest rating, is the private high school Stanislas in Paris, which has been the center of several controversies in recent weeks. The high schools in the Paris area dominate the top of the rankings. You have to wait until the 24th place to see the first high school outside of the Île-de-France region, which is the Lacordaire high school in Marseille.

The ranking is based on data from the ministry weighted with their methodology which takes into account 3 criteria: the high school diploma success rate, the access rate from second grade to high school within the establishment, and the rate of honors obtained by high school graduates. Only high schools that had more than 100 candidates taking the baccalaureate exams are kept. In total, 4,300 high schools in France (general, technical, and vocational) were studied.

What are the best high schools in Dijon?

At the scale of Dijon, the top 5 general and technological high schools are composed of 2 private high schools and 3 public high schools. The first place is awarded to Lycée Notre Dame which scores a 14.72/20, with a success rate of &r.Success rate in the high school diploma of 99%.

Next, we have the Carnot High School (with 13.78/20 and 96% success rate in the high school diploma) and Saint Joseph High School (13.34/20 and 96% success rate). Long considered one of the best high schools in the city, the International Charles de Gaulle ultimately ranks "only" 4th this year, despite a good high school diploma success rate (12.66/20 and 98% success rate). The Montchapet High School, 5th, closes this top 5 with a score of 12.24/20 and a high school diploma success rate of 95%.

At the bottom of the ranking, last among the 11 high schools in the city of Dijon, we find the Simone Weil High School (9.23/20 and 86% success rate in the high school diploma)
