The carousel has been a part of the Dijon landscape for almost 50 years!
The Bareuzai carousel was installed in 1978 on Place François Rude. Named "Gustave Eiffel", it pays tribute to the famous engineer born in Dijon in 1832, telling his life and work through the paintings that decorate its structure. Since its installation, the carousel has delighted generations of Dijonese children and visitors from around the world. Becoming an iconic symbol of the city where the nearby bars have opened and closed, the merry-go-round remains a family story. That of Christelle Bailly, its owner, who succeeded her parents and hopes that her children will take over in the future!
