A "soft" ZFE-m for Dijon already in place
Have you heard about Low Emission Zones (ZFE)? Dijon, true to its innovative spirit, has decided to adopt a slightly lighter version. Unlike larger cities that impose stricter rules, there are no penalties for drivers here. Why? Because the air quality in Dijon is already exemplary, below the European thresholds set for 2030.
This famous ZFE-m covers a wide area of the metropolitan region, including towns like Chenôve, Fontaine-lès-Dijon, and Plombières-lès-Dijon. But Dijon Métropole, being pragmatic, opted for a general exemption. In short, all vehicles, including Crit'Air 5+, can circulate freely. The goal? To maintain a good balance between ecology and daily life.
A green transition that goes back more than just a day in Dijon
If Dijon can enjoy this flexibility, it’s thanks to 20 years of consistent ecological efforts. The city is working hard to show that it’s possible to be modern, comfortable, and environmentally friendly. Here’s a taste of the standout initiatives:
Top-notch public transportation: One of the most efficient networks in France. And what about the tram? Eco-friendly heating: Your radiators in Dijon are heated by… waste! A clever innovation that hits the mark. The cherry on top? Dijon has already reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 23% since 2010. The next goal? Achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
Committed Dijon Residents for a Sustainable Future
Beyond the big policies, it's the locals who bring this transition to life. Associations, businesses, communities... everyone is getting involved to create an even greener city. A local synergy that produces concrete results and inspires the rest of France.
