A Well-Thought-Out Hand-Off
François Rebsamen surprised many in Dijon with his announcement of resignation. After many years of loyal service, it seems our mayor has decided that the time has come to "let democracy breathe." He wants to make space for fresh talent, new ideas, and who knows, maybe even a new era for our beloved Burgundian capital.
It’s Nathalie Koenders, his first deputy since 2015, who is tipped to succeed him. Nathalie could become the first woman to take the reins of the city of Dijon. If the city council gives the green light, she will face the significant task of continuing current projects while adding her own touch of innovation and feminine insight. Not an easy feat!
A Promising Future for Dijon?
When we talk about a transfer, we often think of just a simple name change on the mayor's office door. But here, we’re talking about much more than that. François Rebsamen assures us that he’s still at the helm of the Metropolis,
ready to keep working for our beautiful region with as much fervor as before. Her mission? Nothing less than ecological transition and the strengthening of values of solidarity and social justice.Nathalie Koenders, for her part, has everything to charm and succeed. Already well established in the city's affairs, she knows the files by heart and has that little spark of kind ambition needed to make things happen. If elected, it will be a significant first for Dijon and perhaps the start of a new era filled with freshness and innovations.
While we wait for the council's decision, we can only speculate on future developments. But one thing is for sure, change is in the air and it could bring a refreshing breeze to Dijon. Stay tuned, dear Dijonnais, to follow this story which, we hope, will be as sparkling and invigorating as a good kir!
