A disappeared line... and finally announced to return (but not anytime soon)
Remember: before 2021, there was a magical connection for the people of Dijon eager to fly far away. A direct TGV to Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle, the airport with a thousand destinations. Then poof. Gone. Since then, it's been transfers, bags up the stairs, and cold coffees at Gare de Lyon.
The line is set to be revived in 2027. Yes, 2027. Not in six months, not next year. In two years. So if you've got a flight in 2025, make sure to pack a good pair of sneakers.
This project is in the works at SNCF, as part of a revamp of long-distance and airport connections. The goal: to reconnect metropolitan areas to international travel without going through the “Frilienne hassle.” But for now, we just have to grin and bear it.

Why This Changes Everything for Dijon
Let’s be clear: this return is fantastic news, even if we need to be patient. Dijon, with its status as a vibrant city but not quite a “European hub,” lost a valuable asset in 2021. Without a direct line to Roissy, travel times drag on, connections become stressful, and the desire to travel melts away like an ice cream cone in August.
2027 may seem far away, but it will be a true game changer for professionals, globetrotters, students, tourists, and families. No more need to go through Paris to catch a flight. It’s a real breath of fresh air for local mobility.
In the meantime, we can always dream about future nearby destinations from Dole airport. Just a heads up about the airport's construction period that is set to start at the end of May 2025… It looks like we might be spending summer in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, which wouldn’t be too bad for us!
