Why Donate Blood (and Why Now)?

Let's be honest: getting back into a regular routine after summer can be tough. So when it comes to getting back into the habit of donating blood... we tend to think "later." However, 10,000 donations are needed every day in France to save lives. Cancer treatments, complicated childbirths, rare diseases, road accidents: all situations where blood, plasma, or platelets become vital.

In Dijon, the French Blood Establishment (EFS) has decided to rally the entire city around this cause with Tout Dijon Donne, an initiative that has been beating the solidarity drum of Dijonnais residents for eight years. This 2025 edition makes things clear with a slogan that sounds like a rallying cry: LET'S PLAY COLLECTIVE!

Where to donate in the Dijon metropolitan area during Tout Dijon Donne?

Good news: you don't have to go far to join in on the spirit of giving! Throughout the event, several fixed and temporary collection points will be set up in Dijon and its metropolitan area.

There's no need to cross the country to be part of this wonderful solidarity chain: during the event, fixed and temporary collections will take place in Dijon and in various municipalities in the area.

The Maison du don de Dijon, located on rue du Stade, will be open from September 25 to October 25, 2025. The hours are as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 AM to 7 PM, Wednesday from 8 AM to 3 PM, and Saturday from 8 AM to 1 PM. Each week, a special snack will be provided by a local Dijon restaurateur.

Blood, plasma, and platelet donations are made by appointment only, to be booked here.

At the same time, a big festive collection will take place in downtown Dijon, at the Devosge hall (5 bis rue Devosge), on Friday, October 3, from 12:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday, October 4, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Called My Blood for Others, it is organized with the Rotary, Rotaract, Inner Wheel clubs, and the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors of Dijon. Reservations can be made here.

The Dijon university campus will also host a donation drive open to everyone on Tuesday, October 7, from 10 AM to 4 PM, in the Multiplex room (1014 avenue du XXIe Siècle). Students, staff, and passersby are all welcome!

Reservation is required here.

Finally, several appointments will take place in the metropolitan area. In Longvic, on Tuesday, October 14th from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Jacques Copeau hall – Jean Bouhey Space (book here). In Quetigny, on Thursday, October 16th, from 3 PM to 7:30 PM at the Mendes France hall (reserve here). In Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur, on Tuesday, October 21, from 3 PM to 7:30 PM at the Polygone hall (reserve here). And in Dijon, Bourroches neighborhood, on Friday, October 24th from 3 PM to 7 PM at the MJC Bourroches Valendons (reserve here).

Together, let's do better than last year

This year, the mobilization is going even further with the ambassadors of donation. Associations, businesses, and media (including Le Bonbon Dijon, of course!) are committing to spread the word about this operation.

In 2024, 3115 donors answered the call. A great achievement, but the goal is to aim even higher. What if this year, Dijon really established itself as the city of donation in France? The idea is simple: to transform an act that might seem ordinary into a joyful and unifying collective movement.

So yes, you can keep putting off your sports registration to “next week.” But for donation, there’s no excuse: in just one hour, you too can become part of this chain of solidarity. And believe us, it’s the best back-to-school gift you can give yourself.
