The world of "oval ball" has taken over Paris! On the occasion of its campaign "Photographed with the iPhone" and just a few days before the start of the 2023 Rugby World Cup, Apple has gone all out. From the Louvre to the Opera, passing through the Place des Vosges and the Palais de la Bourse, for several weeks, the greatest monuments of the capital have been adorned with unprecedented portraits of 6 players from the French XV. Antoine Dupont, Gaël Fickou, Cameron Woki, Cyril Baille, Julien Marchand, Charles Ollivon, all played along and posed in front of the camera.© Jacob Sutton / Apple

Freedom of movement

Movement, clarity, sharpness, and freedom. With these black and white shots, British photographer Jacob Sutton has set out to show what the iPhone is capable of and to present rugby from a perfectly original angle.

Among these models for a day: Gaël Fickou and Cameron Woki, both famous rugby players engaged with Racing 92, playing as center and wing respectively. In motion, Gaël Fickou creates a unique shot by positioning his hand in the foreground, as if he is moving towards the camera. On the other hand, Cameron Woki was photographed from high above, giving the impression that he is about to catch the ball.

Alongside them, their teammates also adopt particularly innovative poses: unexpected angle with Antoine Dupont, leap into the void by Charles Ollivon, fixed position from Julien Marchand who looks like he is about to take off on the field, or moving scene with Cyril Baille making a pass, each photo captures the energy of the moment.

The energy and dynamism of the players. There is no doubt, creativity knows no limits. And these photographs were visible in Paris, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Toulouse, Clermont-Ferrand, Toulon, and Lyon.© Jacob Sutton / Apple
