On this second to last weekend of September, the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Tennis League invites you to discover or rediscover Beach Tennis, a sport that combines warm sand and fierce competition. But don't be mistaken, the atmosphere here is just as friendly as it is competitive!
What is Beach Tennis, exactly?
We mentioned it last summer, but if you pictured yourself with a beach racket, weaving between the sunbathers' towels, let's stop right there: Beach Tennis is so much more than that! This lively cousin of traditional tennis is played on sand, creating an explosive mix of volleyball and tennis that never lets the ball drop.
A first for Dijon and an exceptional tournament
Vincent Beauvalot, President of the Beach Tennis Commission, promises an unforgettable weekend and emphasizes the significance of this tournament in the sport's development: “It is with immense pride that the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Tennis League welcomes you to the very first edition of the Beach Tennis BT 1000 tournament at the Jérôme Golmard Space. This historic moment marks a new chapter in our commitment to promoting and developing Beach Tennis in the region.”
