The Editor

Until June 24th, the third floor of the Museum of Burgundian Life is dedicated to the world of electronic music. The exhibition "When electronic music makes Dijon dance" invites you to dive back into the 80s-90s, when the nightclub "l'An-Fer" (closed in 2002) and the rave parties got people moving every weekend.

Flyers, photos and costumes

During a stroll through the room hosting the exhibition, you can discover posters from the club l'An-Fer, flyers distributed to announce the parties, stage costumes, and many photos capturing all those nights, including the very first rave party organized in our city.

What we loved the most was the immersive aspect of the expo, with the opportunity to put on a headset to listen to sounds that were played in the nightclub, to browse on tablets to watch INA videos, or to sit in the screening room and watch television documentaries.

But the real highlight was the wall of photos featuring some rather intriguing landline phones. When you put them to your ear, you are transported by audio testimonials from people who experienced or were involved in the electronic scene of Dijon.

An interview with Daft Punk

To top it off: an interview with Daft Punk conducted by Radio Campus Dijon, after they performed at the An-Fer in 1996. They were still at the beginning of their career, and were not yet wearing their iconic helmets. From the factory: so we can see them in photos without their helmets.

Well, we really enjoyed immersing ourselves in this universe. And we hope you will take the time to discover this beautiful exhibition.
