Dijon, the new capital of rap for a weekend
If you thought rap had no place in Dijon, think again! For its second edition, the Golden Coast Rap Fest skyrocketed in popularity. By expanding from 2 to 3 days, the festival attracted 75,000 people (up from 52,000 in 2024). Half the crowd came from the local area, while the other half traveled across France to join in on the fun. You could say Dijon transformed into the HQ of French rap for the weekend.
And why not? More than 80 artists from the francophone scene took to the festival stages. A massive line-up that solidifies the Golden Coast's status as the number one rap festival in France. Yes, just that!

A young, local vibe that’s totally unifying
Golden Coast isn’t just about concerts: it’s a festival that proudly upholds the values of youth. What’s the average age of the audience? 23 years old, with a majority of women (55%). And when we say Dijon is buzzing, it’s not just a saying: the City, the Metropolis, and the Region have all supported this event, alongside over 88 economic and cultural partners. It’s a real collective dynamic that shows how serious rap is around here.
What’s the result? Huge appeal for Dijon, a boosted local economy, and national recognition. In short, it’s a vibe that benefits everyone. And good news: see you in 2026! (during school holidays), for an even bigger third edition from August 28 to 30.

When the party spills over a bit in Dijon
Of course, a festival this big does not go unnoticed. Situated on the heights of Dijon, the Golden Coast made its bass heard well beyond the site, with the wind sometimes carrying the sound into neighboring neighborhoods. It’s enough to surprise some residents who aren’t used to vibing to rap in their living rooms. But let's be honest: this kind of phenomenon is still rare, and we have to make space for major cultural events so that Dijon continues to shine and establish itself as a city where it's great to live... and go out. Because, after all, a city without a party is a bit like a verse without a rhyme: it lacks flow.
Golden Coast is proof that in Dijon, we know how to turn up the heat. With 75,000 people in attendance, artists that enc...haïnent the shows and a crazy atmosphere, the festival stands out as a must-attend event for rap in France. And if it sometimes causes a bit of noise in the heights of the city, it’s mainly a sign that Dijon is alive, lively, and attracting attention. Can't wait for 2026 to do it all over again, even stronger!
