Discover Museums in a Fun and Original Way

On May 18th, it's the 20th edition of the European Night of Museums. Dijon will be part of it, offering a memorable evening to explore museums in an original way. Like every year, from 8pm to midnight, the doors of the different museums will be open for free. You will have access to both permanent and temporary exhibitions. But what makes this evening special are the fun activities that allow you to explore the treasures of Dijon's museums. With hands-on activities, performances, and treasure hunts, the program promises to be rich and surprising, sure to delight both young and old and give them a taste for culture as a family!

Where to spend the evening of May 18th?

ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

In addition to being able to freely visit the museum in the evening, art workshops will be offered to discover the exhibitions in a more fun and playful way! On the second floor, an artistic practice workshop will allow you to reveal your inner artist. Whether with ink or pen, have fun drawing medieval animals such as horses or eagles and let your creativity flow!

BEAUX ARTS MUSEUM

Do you think you've already explored the Museum of Fine Arts inside out? Get ready to rediscover it from a new perspective during this exceptional evening. Take part in fun activities to uncover the secrets of the museum's artworks with your family! Or even better, travel back to the Middle Ages and share a unique moment with all the other visitors by participating in a collaborative fresco. And we recommend you put in effort, because after this evening, the creation will be exhibited in the museum's mediation room! Yes, it's serious! If you do your best...Experience a more traditional visit, enjoy a night walk through the different rooms and discover the exhibitions!

MUSÉE MAGNIN

What better way to rediscover a museum than to meet the characters from the artworks in real life. Impossible, you say.Don't be mistaken! Thanks to the work of the students from the Marcs d'Or high school accompanied by the association le Fil, you will be able to witness performances during which characters from the various exhibition works will come to life before your amazed eyes! We told you so: this is the perfect opportunity to rediscover the museum in a completely unique way!

LE 1204

Change your artist cap for a detective one at 1204! A treasure hunt awaits you to find the representation of a detail seen on one of Dijon's monuments! After exercising your brain, relax by freely exploring the permanent exhibition that will show you Dijon through its landscapes, architecture, and stories.

If you prefer guided tours, join the ones for the temporary exhibition "Doors, the art of passage". And if you enjoy it, extend the experience with a handicraft workshop where you can make a little souvenir to take home: a magnet shaped like... a door of course!

A performance mixing dance, a world made of paper.There will also be dance and music, presenting tonight on the parvis of Unesco to amaze you. Have a wonderful time!

MUSÉOPARC ALÉSIA

If you have the courage to venture away from Dijon, less than an hour's drive away awaits an evening illuminated by flames. Thousands of fires will guide your nighttime stroll at MuséoParc Alésia. A gigantic structure, giant masts, and Finnish fires will shine brightly on this special night, accompanied by the Haute Côte d'Or orchestra. Everything is set for you to have an enchanting evening!
