La Grande Vadrouille with Bourvil and Louis de Funès
The French movie that has gained legendary status has some scenes set in the Côte d'Or, not too far from Dijon! The iconic scenes of the hospital in La Grande Vadrouille, well-known to all, were filmed at the Hôtel-Dieu in Beaune, with real doctors working during the shooting. The two main characters can be seen in the courtyard of the Hôtel-Dieu for the scene where they arrive on bicycles.
Cyrano De Bergerac with Gérard Depardieu
Another film that has ties to the Côte d'Or is Cyrano De Bergerac starring the talented Gérard Depardieu. Although not all scenes were filmed in the region, some parts are definitely recognizable!Some parts were shot at the Château de Germolles, a stunning medieval castle near Dijon.

When one thinks of Dijon as a film set, one quickly thinks of the film with 10 Césars, Cyrano de Bergerac! If you have a keen eye, you will have the opportunity to recognize the Rue de la Chouette, famous Dijon street. The filming also took place at the Hôtel Vogüé, an iconic place in Dijon and at the Maison Millière, a restaurant still open that offers Burgundian dishes in an old half-timbered building, located in the charming Rue de la Chouette.

The first part of the recent adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' famous novel chose the Hôtel-Dieu in Beaune as the backdrop for some scenes. The charity hall and the courtyard added to the beauty of this film released at the end of last year.
Recent Films and Series Filmed in Dijon!
Other film shoots have recently taken place in Dijon and are not yet widely known! The series A Dangerous Friendship, set in the 17th century, set up on Rue de la Chouette last October to film four episodes of around fifty minutes each, which will be broadcast on French TV. Keep an eye out for these exciting new releases!

The film by Florent Bernard, We The Leroys, filmed entirely in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, used the seventh basement of Parking Sainte-Anne in Dijon for a few scenes. You'll be able to spot the Burgundian settings in the movie starting from April 10th!
