Attention, claustrophobes abstain. To enter this sort of cave of Ali Baba worthy of Aladdin's cave of wonders, you will have to go through an underground channel to dive under the mountain. A revolutionary concept, the first images make us want it and freak us out a little at the same time, we have to admit.
A colossal project
The Neom group had already announced some time ago the construction of The Line, a city entirely in a straight line, without roads, and therefore without carbon emissions, already located in Saudi Arabia.
aoudite. It is in this same line that they have just imagined Aquellum, a city 100 meters high nestled in the side of a mountain.Accessed via a narrow-hidden canal from the Gulf of Aqaba coastline, Aquellum is a feat of architecture and engineering rising from the waters of NEOM. #Aquellum #NEOM pic.twitter.com/q5diabzLmU

Access to the city will be through a luxury marina in the Gulf of Aqaba, where visitors will have access to the canal before discovering this completely crazy city, apparently designed in an environmentally friendly way. Inside, you will find hotels, shops, malls, and even gardens, all accessible through shuttles.

This somewhat mind-blowing construction is estimated to cost over 500 billion dollars, making it the most expensive project in modern history. Quite an impressive record, don't you agree? And even though the goal of this grandiose madness is to promote the opening of the country and attract tourists, we might still think twice before booking our plane tickets...
