"Encounter of the day. Impressive, unlikely and beautiful" expressed Cyril Foucaud, a 37-year-old young oyster farmer from Gujan-Mestras as he shared photos of the 2.40 meters long animal. This "Blue Skin" found itself trapped by the low tide in an oyster park in Cap-Ferret with only 30 cm of water.
It was around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, when the oyster farmer heard «large ripples in the water» before discovering the trapped animal. Scared, the animal (harmless to humans) first tried to bite Cyril and his two colleagues who came to the rescue. Then, the three heroes managed to act calmly and gently, eventually freeing the majestic creature back into the water.
rave; pulling the animal by the tail, which eventually calmed down and even accepted a few pets before heading back to deeper waters. If it came so close to the shore, it was definitely looking for food. An exceptional story, with a happy ending.
