For the love of oval ball... Halfway between a place of contemplation and a museum, this chapel in the Landes region is visited by people from all over the world. Perched on top of a small green hill overlooking the Adour river in the quaint village of Larrivière-Saint-Savin, it welcomes 15,000 visitors a year. Built in 1960 by Abbot Michel Devert, Notre-Dame-du-Rugby honors the memory of deceased athletes and displays large pieces of rugby history. It will be inaugurated in June 1967 after the blessing of the FFR.notre dame du rugby

The Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle of Rugby

Equipment, iconic jerseys, muddy shoes that look more real than life, stained balls, trophy room and 180 jerseys (some iconic) of French and foreign players cover the walls. A kind of sanctified Club House. Notre-Dame-du-Rugby quickly became a pilgrimage site for rugby fanatics. Just in front of the chapel, a museum opened its doors a few years later. Inside, you can find 430 additional jerseys in a private collection (donated 22 years ago) offered by Morgan Bignet, vice-president of the friends of Notre Dame du Rugby.
