Cours Florent Bordeaux: a 3-year training program

Director, stage director, author, actor, screenwriter, talent agent... The career opportunities are diverse and cover all professions in theater and cinema. Like true passion revealers, the instructors support these young talents with passion and determination in a 3-year training program (with an optional and professionalizing 4th year) common to all Cours Florent schools in France.

One local particularity? Exclusively found in the Bordeaux training program: a stronger emphasis on cinema than elsewhere, available from the first year with an optional cinema class. The students' schedule includes 9 hours of mandatory in-person classes per week. 9 hours may seem little? Certainly, but the students add po.For each hour of class, 1h30 of personal work (writing, learning texts, rehearsing, staging...) can be done, and students can sign up for numerous options to reach up to 30 hours per week at the castle. Intensive training! The key to success is the evolution of an artist. So, exams are organized every 6 weeks: scenes, monologues, collective creations, films, carte blanche... to observe the progress of the students and define areas for improvement.

The Cours Florent Youth: artistic disciplines accessible from the age of 7
Throughout the year, on Wednesdays or Saturdays, and during school holidays, Cours Florent trains the youngest talents through fun activities and a gentle pedagogy. An early approach to performing arts disciplines that opens the child up to their emotions and gives them their first artistic benchmarks.

Excellence, pedagogy, and kindness, the keys to Cours Florent's success

Guillaume Canet, François-Xavier Demaison, Pierre Niney, Gilles Lellouche, Audrey Tautou, Laurent Lafitte, Audrey Lamy...They are all Florentins! The strength of Cours Florent? In Bordeaux or elsewhere? A human-sized school where each personality is respected, encouraged to become the best version of themselves. In Bordeaux, the school has 300 students (well, as of now).We are known and identified despite the masks since we entered) and a fixed educational team of 25 speakers, all educators and professionals in the entertainment industry. All of this takes place in the spectacular setting of the Château du Prince Noir, right across from the eponymous Michelin-starred restaurant. A majestic setting where a family atmosphere reigns. The building has more than 1,000 years of history and just as many anecdotes to tell. It transforms at times into a bubble of leisure - at times into a bubble of work. Its 2-hectare park regularly serves as a stage where students work on their bodies or voices. Without shame or fear of daytime noise. "This Castle is a bit like our own Hogwarts," says Christophe Lorcat, with a proud and kind smile on his lips. Because while the Director of the Cours Florent in Bordeaux has an undeniable reputation, his commitment to making his establishment shine is also remarkable.

The Cours Florent, with over 50 years of experience in training artists

It all started in 1967 when François Florent, a man of theatre, decided to create the Cours Florent to teach theatre to enthusiasts. 55 years later, the school is a reference in France and Europe. Praised for its multidisciplinary and individualized teaching, it offers drama, cinema, dance, singing, musical comedy classes... combined with specialized teachings (optional classes added to the weekly schedule).

This myriad of classes (writing, directing actors, mime, clowns, stunts, acting in English, film and theatre history, casting training, on-camera acting, film analysis) is taught only by educators. All of them are artists, still active in their fields. They know the field better than anyone. The objective? To support students in a tailor-made project and bring out the artist they want to become.
