Ppoppo Mart: An Asian Grocery Store in Bordeaux
A first of its kind in Bordeaux, it brings a breath of fresh air to Rue Saint-Rémi. In the heart of eclectic restaurants, Ppoppo Mart aims to bring Korean culture to the masses in Bordeaux. The little sister of Bibibap and Iké (gourmet baos that recently arrived in the Grands-Hommes neighborhood) is banking on a wide and complete range of Korean products.
Within its 350 m2 spread over 2 levels, the shelves are stocked with trendy products, both food and beauty. While K-Beauty, K-pop, and K-food are booming, online orders are flying off the shelves. Bordeaux residents no longer need to place orders—all the essential products from the Land of the Morning Calm are hidden in this colorful shop, with must-haves also imported from Vietnam, China, Japan, and Thailand.

A Korean food & beauty selection
The most popular part? The food and snacking section with those famous instant noodles that fly off the shelves (the corner is often completely emptied), fresh products ("Kimchi", "marinated turnips", "rice cakes" or even "mandou") as well as a great selection of typical Korean alcohols and frozen products that are a huge hit (ice creams, pastries, pickles, sauces and condiments).

As Asian influences continue to take up more and more space in our everyday meals, all seasoning products are experiencing real success. And to allow residents to find their favorite dishes served at Bibibap, they're offering them in takeaway cooked meal versions. Brilliant idea! Faced with general demand, K-Beauty is gradually carving out its place and will see more cosmetics, accessories and wellness products added.

In the second part of Ppoppo Mart, lies a corner dedicated to bubble-tea "Xing Fu Tang" (a pioneering brand in Asia). Halfway between drink and dessert, this sweet beverage typical of the Asian continent made with homemade tapioca pearls is prepared in the laboratory at the backfrom the grocery store. On the menu? The classic "brown sugar milk" or several fancy flavors like "crème brûlée" or fruity options with the "mango passion strawberries," a summer favorite.
