Bordered by the Atlantic coastline, in the three municipalities of Léon, Moliets-et-Maa, and Vielle-Saint-Girons, it is the umbilical cord between Lake Léon and the Atlantic Ocean. With exceptional landscapes and a great botanical richness, the site covers a total area of 618 hectares. This is the last set of lakes and streams in Aquitaine that has preserved its natural character. The reserve offers several walks, of varying lengths, on land or from the sea, to diversify the pleasures.

Exceptional panoramic views that surprise and delight nature lovers
On its website, Landes Atlantiques Sud specifies: "The estuary offers a panoramic view that surprises and delights nature lovers. And for walkers, it is the starting point for a walk along the riverbank that invites you to discover its lush and tropical vegetation.
Its famous nature reserve can also be explored on a guided tour on foot and by boat. Located on Moliets beach, the estuary is an iconic place in the town of Moliets because its landscapes are ever-changing. The beach is not supervised and dogs are not allowed as it is a protected natural environment.
