Hourtin Lake: A huge body of water with water activities
The Carcans-Hourtin lake is the largest of France's natural freshwater sites! A peaceful haven of nearly 6000 hectares rich in environmental quality, hidden beaches, and numerous water activities to diversify the pleasures (sailing, go-karting, water skiing, canoeing, kitesurfing, pedal boats...). In an idyllic setting, bordered by forest, dunes, and wild marshes, swimming there is very pleasant with an average temperature of 24°C in August.

Very popular with tourists, the site has been awarded the "Famille Plus" label and is home to Île aux Enfants, a 10-hectare leisure park dedicated to children aged 3 months to 12 years old!
A haven of peace in the heart of the Landes du Médoc
Spread across a vast area, its 2km-long equipped and protected beach is very pleasant. Not to mention the protected East bank and the little hidden beaches in the "conches" to the West. Like the beach of La Gracieuse, hidden between Lake Hourtin, the Nature Reserve of the Dunes, and the Marsh of Hourtin, about ten kilometers from Hourtin Plage. The promise of a natural moment, where you won't be bothered by the crowds.

Known for its popularity among fishermen, this charming spot is home to a variety of fascinating species such as pike, zander, perch, carp, and more. Fishing from a boat is permitted here (as long as you have a valid permit) and provides a delightful experience for seasoned anglers looking to enjoy a day of quality fishing.
Accessible by foot, boat, or bike (via the cycling paths along its shores), the Lake of Carcans-Maubuisson in Hourtin is a unique destination.
