Atchehoun Deleskevyzh (better known as Junior) and Thierry Paiva (no introduction needed for the UBB player) have founded THE new place to be in the Fernand-Lafargue neighborhood. When the rugby player is not on the field, you can find him in his new community bar, Le Grand Popo, alongside his childhood friend. When envisioning the space, the two Bordeaux natives only had one motto in mind: to rediscover the carefree spirit of their wild years.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays are humor parties!
The bar, also a comedy club, opened its doors 2 and a half months ago, aims to revive the city's culture. With a diverse and crazy event schedule, this new lively venue will buzz with daily events. Salsa classes, drag queen shows, humor festivals (such as the Grand Popo Comedy Club held every Tuesday and Wednesday from the beginning of the month), concerts, DJ sets, and even a monthly outreach for the association "Un mafé par tous". All major cultural players are collaborating with Grand Popo, with a slight bias towards humor shows and highly sought-after headliners. We hear that Paul Mirabel and Roman Frayssinet will be stopping by soon.
Events are free for members. Membership costs €30 but is well worth it.able considering the array of animations that reign on site.
Grand Popo Bordeaux
The new 5-star association bar
Out with the gloomy and cheap association bar, this establishment shines with style. It's no surprise when you learn that Maxime Lis (Brigitte Macron's favorite who redecorated Matignon) was in charge of the interior design of the 120 m2 premises. In doing so, the owners wanted to offer a new, more quality alternative to the association bar. However, the prices confirm the community spirit of the place. 5€ for a pint and 8€ for cocktails (made by the bar director of Gabriel)... Big up to the revamped planteur by mom, now a best-seller at Grand Popo. For dining, you can enjoy African dishes and charcuterie platters for 10€ from El Regalao.

Dancing bar until 5am
Watching a comedy show, having a cocktail-snack. YES. And then dancing until the end of the night. It's possible! Because Grand Popo is also and above all a dancing bar until 5am where you can groove to French variety, disco, funk, hip-hop, rap, salsa or even Afro music. However, you will need to be a member to access the after parties. For those with claustrophobia, a terrace with 18 seats (and more if you get along with the neighbors) is next to one of the prettiest squares in the city.
Welcome to Grand Popo, your next HQ.
