The Editor

At just 27 years old, Margaux has managed to carve out a big place for herself in the Bordeaux tattoo world. This petite but big-smiled and humble Bordeaux native is a fan of hands-on activities. This true jack-of-all-trades enjoys everything from drawing to the overall plastic arts and ceramics. But her true passion is tattooing. She discovered it at Salon Sybilles, a vegan tattoo salon with a kind-hearted tea shop near Pey-Berland, where she honed her craft for a year.

A reassuring and refined decoration

From thread to needle, her assertive and delicate style and her entrepreneurial spirit drive her to expand her business. She opened Écho Studio in December 2020. And when you enter the beautiful studio at  21 Rue Barreyre, you quickly understand that she has broken the codes of traditional tattoo parlors. Gone is the old-school salon, in its cozy 80 m2 space, bohemian decoration reigns supreme with a mix of tastefully curated furniture and a blend of sophisticated materials (glass partition and polished concrete blend with the wooden hut that serves as her office and playground for drawing her future creations on her tablet). Small decorative touches like dried flowers, vintage carafes, vases, and interior scents complete the picture. You feel at home, but even better.

Delicate, floral and intentionally imprecise drawings

It must be said that the reassuring setting confirms the creator's intention to modernize the spirit of tattooing and its universe. It also aims to feminize it. Because behind the scenes, Margaux confides that the majority of her clientele is female. This is certainly explained by her style. To present her art and describe her work, she mentions "pieces based on black and lines, intentionally irregular yet soft and poetic". For the young tattoo artist, in art as in life, imperfections give meaning and volume to an element, and that's what she aims to convey through her work. With this unique style, she gradually manages to assert herself and create a place in the world of tattooing. Today, she has more than 27. 000 followers on Instagram.

A gentler and eco-friendly approach to tattooing

Facing her growing success and the exponential demand from new clients, she surrounded herself with 2 female tattoo artists. Anna, a handpoke enthusiast, highly sought after for her graphic designs and landscapes, and Deborah, the latest addition, sought after for.Her most ethnic creations. All 3 evolve in the same dynamic. One of a custom, thoughtful, and environmentally friendly experience. The idea is not to get a tattoo on a whim, on a whim between two appointments. The protocol is always the same. Clients contact the studio, share their request (desired design, location, size, photo references attached) ... and then an exchange is created to finalize the details before the big day. After the session, a care sheet is systematically provided (and signed) with all necessary recommendations. Another asset of the salon? An eco-responsible approach that is reflected in the choice of materials, products made in France as much as possible and special attention to energy consumption (green energy supplier). At Echo Studio, love shines under the needles. With a strange light... (you know the rest!)
