The new aquatic complex in Cenon opens in July

Located at the heart of the Loret estate, a green lung nestled in a residential area, the complex will open to the public on Wednesday, July 5th after 2 years of work. Entrusted to the group Baudin Châteauneuf and the agency Christophe Blamm Architect, the new complex is dedicated to sports practice (adapted for competitions), water funactivities, and also includes a wellness area.

A complex that blends sports, wellness, leisure, and ecology

The establishment, designed to meet the needs of 700 people expected per day, offers a hall with a pool divided into 2 distinct areas: sports & recreational as well as a wellness area including spa, steam room, sauna, tea room. Total cost of the project: 16 million euros excluding taxes financed by the Department, the Region, Bordeaux Métropole and the National Sports Agency.

Unique in Bordeaux, this is the first swimming pool in France to be equipped with a Handiroom (changing room for people with disabilities). Continuing in this committed and inclusive dynamic, it will be named after the handisport swimmer Elodie Lorandi, holder of several French, European, and World records.

The first 100% inclusive swimming pool in France

Setting an example in terms of eco-responsibility, the pool uses the urban heat network of the Hauts de Garonne to heat the structure using the heat generated by the incineration of waste from the Cenon plant and the wood boiler in Lormont. Always with an environmental respect perspective, the waters are.Basins are preserved and reused, especially for watering the green areas of the pool.

Great news: on the first day, access will be free, but will require a reservation for a dedicated time slot (1 hour) so that as many Cenon residents as possible can enjoy it.
