A dive into the high society of the 1920s
Its uniqueness lies mainly in its breathtaking decor. With a "Belle Époque" style, the restaurant combines rocaille and vegetation through its artificial cave made of real volcanic rock imported to Bordeaux. This "resolutely rococo" style harks back to the 20th century, when jazz evenings brought together high society figures.
With its exceptional menu and unique setting, the Chapon Fin has welcomed many iconic personalities. From royalty like Alphonse XIII, king of Spain, to artists such as Sarah Bernhardt and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, or politicians like Aristide Briand, Georges Clemenceau, Jacques Chirac. Always on-trend, the Chapon Fin has more recently been visited by Eva Longoria.Time for a privileged lunch.©Le Chapon Fin
Recipes from the past with a modern twist
Although it is no longer starred in the Michelin Guide (for voluntary reasons), it continues its renowned gastronomy. With a French cuisine from another era updated to modern tastes, Chef Cédric Bobinet (formerly from Taillevent in Paris) works exclusively with fresh and local flagship products from the region.
The menu, which changes each season, features some must-haves such as the " pan-seared or marbled foie gras" the " smoked Brannens pigeon in hay" or its best-selling dessert, the " deconstructed canelé reinterpretation" .

Two centuries of high gastronomy
All of this served in this grand 300 m2 luxury setting which accommodates 60 diners (up to 90 for private events). Among them? 2 exceptional tables are nestled in the heart of the cave on the balcony. Fun fact, one of them was reserved by the King of Spain, who often traveled to Bordeaux to meet his mistress. While it was the hidden temple of clandestine adventures, it is also very regularly booked for marriage proposals.

A sumptuous wine cellar with 1000 references
The highlight of the show? A 16th-century cellar (formerly part of the Jacobins' Convent) that houses 6000 bottles of wine. With a catalog of 1000 different references, mainly from Bordeaux, some are among the most prestigious in the world. Like, for example, the 1986 Petrus sold for €4900. Behind this oenophiles' paradise, there is a privatizable lounge for 19 people that hosts private meals. The customer journey, which requires descending to the cellar to access this intimate lounge, is quite charming.©Le Chapon Fin
With many projects and some new ambitions, the Chapon Fin continues to surprise. An institution that never ceases to rejuvenate!
