If it is so appreciated by the people of Bordeaux, it is for its warm and festive welcome. The Hide Way restaurant, not far from the Aquitaine Museum, shines with its small dishes to share and its unparalleled conviviality.

Good cuisine and good music come together in this neighborhood restaurant. Nestled in the beautiful rue de Guienne, Hide Way has taken a new turn. Its opening in September 2020 sparked a lot of talk. Originally positioning itself as a speakeasy, the 3-story establishment (with an intimate bar on the ground floor, restaurant on the 1st floor, and private event space on the 2nd floor) has returned to basics. Since its early days, the concept has evolved. A festive and family-friendly neighborhood bar Now run by Romain, it now focuses on what has made it strong: a neighborhood bistro/bar that honors local cuisine alongside regulars. Open only in the evening, from Tuesday to Saturday, it brings together a lovely community of loyal customers. Very family-oriented, yet festive (the restaurant is open until 2 am), it has established itself as the perfect spot for a lively dinner. The recipe for this success? A groovy/jazz/electro playlist and incredible signature cocktails crafted by the excellent Antoine.Served in the most beautiful establishments in London and Canada.

A local and terroir menu

Another strength of the place? A quality menu mainly consisting of small plates for sharing. At Hide Way, most of the tables in the restaurant are occupied by plates, where customers can enjoy products that are 100% fresh and from Gironde. There are also some chef's specials that change with the seasons. Always two main dishes including a "game pie with 5 different wild meats and a wine sauce" are featured on the menu.

Another highlight of Hide Way? The meal deals (by reservation only) that delight the most foodies. Among them? The "market classic" at 40€ with starter/main course/dessert, the "signature menu" at 59€ with starter/main course/cheese/dessert and high-end products such as truffles, or the "prestige" at 89€ consisting of appetizers/two starters/main course/cheese and dessert. For each menu, you can choose a food and wine or champagne pairing for an additional 35€ per person.

In this discreet and gourmet place, the reviews are excellent (5 out of 5 on TripAdvisor). It's like a timeless escape, leaving you wanting more.
