The Editor

Ambrosia Bar opened its doors in November 2019. Two and a half years later, Charlotte and Charles, who work together in life as well as behind the bar, spare no effort. First, in the choice of their 100% French and local products that require a lot of time. And secondly, in the originality of the menu that they renew each season. These two gourmet thirty-somethings have taken on the bold challenge of launching the first locavore bar with French tapas in the historic district of the city. Take the pie, it comes from the Basque Country. The cheese comes directly from Gironde. The saucisson is from Bayonne, the salad comes from Pauline's Air Farm (the first aquaponic farm in Bordeaux), and the hummus is made with chickpeas from Lauragais. You understand, everything on your plate comes from a small producer not far from Bordeaux and is always stated on the menu. A rare thing!

An exceptionally local brunch

The latest addition? The launch of brunch on Saturday and Sunday. At the exceptional price of 22€, here's what you'll have the honor of tasting. Plain yogurt & homemade granola accompanied by hot drinks (Espresso / Americano / Cappuccino / Tea / Hot Chocolate) or fresh drinks (Iced tea / Lemonade / Freshly squeezed orange juice) to start off on a good note. Next up is the Carny plate with meat and cheese of the moment accompanied by whole wheat bread, scrambled eggs, mixed greens, and pickled red onions. The fish version also exists with trout & cream cheese. Not to forget the veggie option with chickpea hummus & lentil hummus that's a hit.

The sweet part of the brunch revolves around waffles & homemade Madagascar vanilla whipped cream and your choice of topping (salted caramel / nutella / maple syrup / honey / whipped cream). And how could we forget the bottomless mimosas?

Indulge in Lot hazelnut butter / jam. Who said you can't follow the latest brunch trends without supporting local producers? 🌰🍇 #brunchgoals #supportlocal

A bar that reinvents the cocktail the Bordeaux way

If you didn't know yet, cocktail enthusiasts praise Ambrosia Bar to discover their elaborate cocktails made exclusively from French spirits and preferably from Bordeaux (swap tequila for cognac and mos.

where the mule becomes "french mule"). On site, 7 beers are available on tap and all are 100% made in France . The same rule applies to wines from the region. Ultimately cocktails-waffles doesn't make such a bad mix!
