The Utopia

Located in a church, the only art house cinema in the downtown area benefits from a sumptuous setting. In addition to this, there is a sharp programming that includes a mix of big-budget films and a wealth of independent productions, always in their original version. Sometimes followed by lively debates led by the film team or enlightened by experts, the screenings always provide food for thought. If you're a fan of blockbuster films with special effects, this is not the place for you.

In the world of blockbusters

Cinema Bordeaux Mega CGR Le Français

One of the first multiplexes in the area got a facelift in 2010 after five long years of renovation. Not content with being the oldest cinema in the city, it is probably the most beautiful with its classified facade, its large room adorned with columns and a ceiling painted by the Bordelais Émile Brunet. As for the programming, nothing too out of the ordinary: popular films and big spectacle films.

While the service can be inconsistent and prices are high (9.90 euros per person), UGC is the only downtown cinema to offer original versions.
