A passion for the black gold of Madagascar

Behind this project is Eric Pommeraud, a former head chef from Bordeaux with Malagasy roots and a true food enthusiast. Since 2023, he has been delighting the finest tables in the region (Maison Nouvelle, L’Oiseau Bleu, Le Quatrième Mur, Hôtel Renaissance, Le Prince Noir…) with his exceptional vanilla pods, harvested in Sambava, the world capital of vanilla located on the northeastern coast of Madagascar.

With Vanille Lina, Eric Pommeraud now wishes to share this treasure with all the people of Bordeaux, directly and without intermediaries. “By opening our bakery and gourmet grocery specializing in Madagascar bourbon vanilla in the heart of Bordeaux, we aim to offer our exceptional products to individuals, without any middleman, and expand our range of products available for sale,” he explains.


A temple of vanilla indulgence

Nestled in a cozy 35m² space, Vanille Lina offers takeaway only. On the pastry front, get ready for a selection of traditional treats with a vanilla twist: Bordeaux canelés, vanilla cream puffs, custard tarts, and even mini canelés to take along with your coffee.


The grocery space won’t fall behind, featuring a curated range of artisanal products : Madagascar vanilla beans, vanilla-infused tea, acacia honey with vanilla, vanilla foie gras, vanilla fleur de sel… Everything you need to create custom gift baskets, perfect for giving or treating yourself to a delightful local indulgence.

A local and committed approach

Vanille Lina is also a business deeply involved in Bordeaux life : vanilla pod distribution for professionals happens every morning by bike throughout Bordeaux, and individuals across France can order online for fast postal delivery.
