The best brioche cake in Gironde is only 20 minutes away from Bordeaux
Yesterday, we introduced you to the best frangipane cake in New Aquitaine. And now it's the exceptional king cake from Maison Michaud, located in Villenave-d'Ornon, that wins the gold medal in the regional competition for the Best King Cake 2023! The award ceremony took place yesterday in Angoulême.
We now have something to delight all sweet tooths by presenting you with the brioche cake that stood out in the departmental competition sponsored by Poitou-Charentes AOP butter. This time it's the artisan bakery Le Fournil de Créon, represented by its apprentice Alexandre Belvisotti, that comes out on top with their brioche cake.

On the menu? A signature creation made with red label flour, free-range eggs, sugar, yeast, a pinch of salt, fresh cream, and butter from Lot-et-Garonne. The galette is available in 4, 6, or 8 portions. Prices start at €11 for the small, €13 for the medium, and €15 for the large. Each brioche is made with a lot of care, taking 4 days to make. All are decorated with a glass figurine made in France from a delicate collection of birds.
