Alice in Wonderland Pastries in Bordeaux
Ready to jump to the other side of the looking glass? As part of their final-year project, 12 students from the Institut Culinaire de France are opening their pop-up pastry shop dedicated to the world of Alice in Wonderland. For just 10 days, from February 10 to 20, the people of Bordeaux can discover a unique and immersive haven where imagination tastes as delightful as a bite of enchanted cake.

As soon as you enter 44 rue de la Faïencerie, you're welcomed with a smile. Suspended clocks, a wink to the White Rabbit, and nods to the famous tale by Lewis Carroll throw visitors right into a quirky, dreamlike world. The entire setting has been thoughtfully designed by the students to extend the experience beyond the window display.
Sweet and Savory Creations, Plus a Fairytale Decor
When it comes to treats, the menu is as inventive as it is storytelling! Among the standout creations, the Apple Pie tartlet combines cinnamon apple compote, pecan praline, and a delicate pastry, while the dessert The White Rabbit mixes vanilla, lemon, and spices. Marshmallows, fruit jellies, chocolate candies, and pastry delights...series and hot drinks complete the sweet offer.
At lunch time, the shop also offers a snacking formula with croque-monsieur, club sandwiches, salads, and sweet-savory recipes, staying true to the whimsical spirit of the project.
A full-scale educational project
This project brings together 8 pastry students and 4 chocolate-making students, including several international students studying in English. “This is our end-of-year project, a real-life situation that allows us to manage creation, production, and sales,” explains one of the students. A wonderful world where clocks melt like chocolate, where tea tells stories, and where illusion gently takes over reality.
