Poupoule, the new Bordeaux broth
For the Lecoq group, it's not about putting all their œufs in one basket! Led by Romain Cazalas, the group introduces its 5th establishment. After the successful catering service Madame Lecoq, the renowned Bistrot des Girondins, and the Bal du Coq hot spot for dancing to 80s hits in the city center...
The group is going back to the basics, focusing on traditional French cuisine. Poupoule embraces the charm of yesteryear with a vintage décor and nostalgic family-style dishes.
Dishes that Celebrate French Cuisine in All Its Glory
Well-known in Paris, traditional bouillon-style eateries are just starting to blossom in the region. With a fun and independent spirit, Poupoule is all set to become a go-to spot for classic and timeless dishes.
What’s on the menu? Delicious snails in parsley butter, a tasty egg mayo, herring salad with potatoes, Toulouse sausage with buttery mashed potatoes, duck confit served with baby potatoes, and for those with a sweet tooth, rhum baba, French toast, or chocolate profiteroles.
Deliciously simple dishes made from scratch by the experienced chef, a former member of the Tupina team.
A charming, old-fashioned family canteen
Beyond its tempting menu, the restaurant shines with its warm and relaxed atmosphere, featuring retro wallpapers and large wooden tables that can seat 80 guests. The cherry on top? A sunny terrace seating 40 for enjoying your meal while soaking up some vitamin D!
With this new project, Poupoule wants to spread its wings while staying true to local cuisine with a menu that changes every month and a daily lunch special. "This isn't just a simple restaurant; it's a place where we return to the roots of French gastronomy, in an atmosphere that encourages connection and simplicity," shares the manager. It's like an invitation to get back to the basics and savor life, without any fuss.
