Pistachio: The authentic Lebanese ice cream in Bordeaux
The Lebanese-Iranian couple draws from their origins the best of gastronomy and works with local producers to import their sun-soaked delights. All their ice creams are homemade and the recipes are kept secret, so they won't be copied by the competition that is already very curious.
On the menu at Pistache Bordeaux? The Lebanon to be enjoyed in a cup or cone (depending on preferences). Several varieties of classic ice creams are available: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, litchi, mango, and of course pistachio (the house favorite). The specialty? The famous achta ice cream, made with orange blossom, milk flower and topped with chopped pistachios. Ultra creamy!
In each of his creations, the ice cream maker uses pistachio resin to make them more elastic, so that a topping can be placed on top without the ice cream melting. This is the very essence of Lebanese ice cream and what makes it so unique. Without any advertising and simply through the power of a new concept and word of mouth, Pistache has been bustling since its opening.
But that doesn't mean they surf on the attraction of novelty and overcharge. Expect €3.50 for a scoop of classic flavors and €6.50 for the achta ice cream with 2 scoops served in a cup or cone.
