Modjo Bordeaux: The Taste of Surprise and Quality Products
Since opening in 2018, Modjo has been shining with its generous, flavorful cuisine, where the combination of flavors and the choice of producers are never left to chance. The table of Chef Quentin Maurouard – who has sharpened his knife at some of the finest restaurants in Albi, Paris, and Sydney – now ranks among the top gastronomic restaurants in Bordeaux. What's the secret? His concept of blind dinners, completely unique in the city!

A generous chef in constant evolution
Behind Modjo, you'll find a chef with diverse influences, accompanied by his wife, a sommelier who helps customers with their food and wine pairings. At the heart of making a memorable impression, Quentin Maurouard especially delights guests by serving their desserts right at the table before their amazed eyes. This overflowing generosity shines through in his lunch menu (market formula starting at 28€) as well as his dinner options, featuring a blind tasting menu with 4 or 6 courses (starting at 72€).
Pure French Tradition and Bordeaux Originality
The dishes, crafted with exceptional precision, play with our taste buds to create delightful surprises. With a heart full of memories, certain notes emerge throughout the tasting and awaken our senses. The combinations of fresh, locally sourced ingredients defy the ordinary. Just look at the "Roasted black place, lemon and fine herbs bulgur, marinière mussels," the "Vegetable tagine with turmeric, coriander, raisins, and caramelized onions," or the "Yuzu caramel and vanilla religieuse" for dessert.
Every two weeks, the menu gets a fresh twist to delight the discerning palates of regulars and showcase new seasonal ingredients. Despite its exceptional menu, Modjo Bordeaux aims to make gourmet dining accessible with a four-course meal starting at just €47 for lunch. In its contemporary setting with Bordeaux touches (just like its plates), the 40 guests are treated like royalty: truffle chocolate and assorted amuse-bouches are provided as treats! These thoughtful little extras really make a difference.
Like a high-end, refined retreat and cozy haven
Whenever he is present, the chef makes his rounds in the dining area to gather feedback (and most often, praise). The restaurant's reviews are unanimous, helping Modjo rank among the favorites of Bordeaux locals. Its decor is both minimalist and distinctly Bordeaux with raw stone accents,
Wood materials and soft lighting create a very cozy atmosphere, where tasting happens in peaceful surroundings. Its access is from the Alsace-Lorraine side or Rue des Herbes. This makes a lot of sense considering the chef's appreciation for the local aromatics.
Good news: the restaurant is open for the year-end festivities and promises a menu full of surprises - true to the essence of the house - and exceptional products. Don’t forget to make a reservation to enjoy this magical experience.
