A Bold Duality of Cultures
A breath of fresh air is sweeping through the dining scene in the Saint-Pierre neighborhood. Since January 30, 2025, Goombah has established itself as the first Ital-New York restaurant in the city, promising an exciting adventure: to discover a fusion cuisine that brilliantly blends the authenticity of Italian flavors with the unbridled energy of American culture. To celebrate its grand arrival, the restaurant has launched a quirky contest on its Instagram account: its age in meatballs to win!

Goombah, the New Gourmet Rebel in Bordeaux
Opened by Gabriel, a 29-year-old from the restaurant world and the great-grandson of an Italian immigrant, Goombah means "rascal" or "mobster" in everyday slang. It's a nod to the great wave of Sicilian immigration to the United States, where this word evolved into a symbol of belonging and integration. A wink to Italian culture in American soil, which is a true inspiration for Gabriel as he aims to bring it to life in his restaurant.

A club for pasta lovers
The menu offers a culinary experience like no other. At the heart of the concept are the famous American meatballs simmered in a homemade tomato sauce, served with a mountain of spaghetti. A New York classic, available as an appetizer or a main dish for just €16!

Generous, Iconic, and Comforting Recipes
But Goombah isn’t just that. It blends touches of New York cuisine with classic Italian gastronomy to create delightful surprises: vodka rigatoni, fresh lobster pasta, incredibly tender veal chop parmigiana, and tiramisu are some of the shining examples. Here, cheddar teams up with smoked scamorza, creating a successful fusion of the two cultures. The cherry on top of the tiramisu? The pasta is homemade every day, with love and respect for tradition.

Goombah focuses on authenticity and friendliness, set in an urban environment that brings to mind the vibe of the trendy neighborhoods in the city that never sleeps. With raw concrete walls, leather benches, a hip-hop playlist, and soft, candlelit lighting creating a warm atmosphere in the evening. "If guests wish, dinner might end with dancing to some iconic and a bit kitschy Italian culture songs" shares Gabriel, happy to see his guests thriving within his walls.
