You may have noticed, but the Comptoir de Mathilde is no longer around. At least, in downtown Bordeaux! The 3 stores in Bordeaux Sainte-Catherine, Bordeaux-Lac, and Bouliac have officially closed their doors.

The adventure stops here

Since its founding in 2007, Le Comptoir de Mathilde has been crafting most of its recipes using chocolate products and fine sweet or savory grocery items in its factory in France. The brand, well-known among the people of Bordeaux for its 3 shops (on rue Sainte-Catherine, at Bordeaux-lac, and in Bouliac), quickly became a favorite spot for delicious and artisanal snacks. 


One survivor in the Arcachon basin 

But the shop seems to be in trouble. Quietly, and without any announcement, it has closed the doors to its 3 Bordeaux boutiques at the end of February. A sad news for chocolate lovers. Only one store remains open, the one in Biganos located in the Auchan shopping center in the Arcachon basin.

A chapter is closing, but it can continue online. Fans can still order their favorite products from the online shop, but it’s no longer possible to taste the homemade spreads in-store. For that, you'll have to set sail!
