La Cave de la Rousselle: 370 vintage references
The Cave de la Rousselle - located on the namesake pedestrian street - opened its doors in December. Just one month after its opening, it can boast of exponential attendance. Behind this neighborhood cellar, we find Jean-Jacques Dubourdieu, a winemaker from father to son for 4 generations and son of Denis Dubourdieu, a famous oenologist who passed away in 2016.
Nurtured since childhood in the Saint-Nectar, this seasoned wine lover has realized his childhood dream: to open a cellar and share all the gem vintages that he has had the opportunity to taste in the last 20 years.
The cozy cellar is nestled on Rue de la Rousselle, a alley known since the 12th century for its commercial life and significant historical events. As a little anecdote, the parents of Michel de Montaigne were ...At number 25, you'll find a row of merchants. A must-see in the Bordeaux area, visitors stroll around to admire the Saint Michel spire or to connect the right bank and the docks to the historic center.
Honoring French and international terroirs
Pretty successful bet! On the menu at Cave de la Rousselle in Bordeaux, you'll find 370 references of Bordeaux wines, champagnes, and spirits - French and international. Not to mention the wines from the Denis Dubourdieu family (including Château Doisy Daëne - Cru Classé in 1855 - Clos Floridene, and Château Reynon...) A nice mix between the founder's favorite winemakers and the cuvées from their own estates.
Other Bordeaux labels are represented, including most of the Classified Great Growths. The cellar also unveils a range of Bordeaux wines below 15€. And surprising alcohol-free bottles (that even fool experts with their similar taste).

Wine bottles for every budget
From the small vineyard owner to the Grand Cru Classé that shines worldwide, Cave de la Rousselle wants to cater to all budgets and palates. To achieve this, some prices break the norms, and therefore the preconceptions. You can find wine bottles for all budgets: from the everyday bottle (starting at €8.50) to the gift bottle.
In the same spirit, the wine shop also opens up to all borders. Beautiful bottles filled with sunshine from Morocco, South America, Italy, and Australia are waiting to be discovered.
Spirits, preserves, and tasting evenings
But that's not all. La Cave de la Rousselle also offers a wide selection of champagnes, crémants, proseccos, spirits (gins, port, rums, armagnac), local beers, and spreads sourced from Langonais in short circuits. On-site, Romane welcomes customers and shares her advice with a smile and high expertise. She organizes tastings that are held free of charge without an appointment at any time of the day (except for groups who must make a reservation in advance).
With the ambition of showcasing its wide variety of wines and spirits, the Cave de la Rousselle organizes wine tasting events with themes. The events take place once a month, usually on Thursdays. For €25 per person, guests sit around enjoying 5 glasses of wine and delicious appetizer platters.
It can also be privately booked for all kinds of events. Wine enthusiasts can then enjoy the cave's selection, at cellar prices!
