A prestigious national contest
Stay tuned! The award for Best Coffee Shop in France will be presented today at the show Paris Coffee Show. Books & Coffee, located on Rue Saint-James, is among the top 5 finalists. The event, supported by Collectif Café — the main professional federation of the sector in France — honors the excellence of establishments each year. Candidates are evaluated based on several criteria: quality of specialty coffee, roasting skills, menu variety, customer service, and the offering of sweet and savory foods.
After a candidate application submitted in June, the judges visited the selected coffee shops anonymously to assess the quality of services. The winner will be announced today, based on the deliberations of a jury of three prof...Professionals and public voting.

Books & Coffee, a Bordeaux institution
Founded in 2013 by Benjamin Audas, Books & Coffee quickly became a must-visit spot in the city center. Behind its friendly terrace and cozy space filled with books, the team has managed to evolve over the years. In 2017, theThe coffee shop has equipped itself with a roaster to master its coffee from start to finish. Since 2023, a neighboring laboratory allows them to produce homemade pastries, all in full view of the public.
A Collective Adventure
The establishment currently employs 27 people and prides itself on an adventure built on passion and teamwork. “This finalist position is already an achievement. It’s the culmination of over ten years of efforts from several people ,” shares its founder with Essentiel Bordeaux. Regardless of the outcome of the competition, Books & Coffee confirms its role as a pioneer in the Bordeaux coffee scene and its place as a maestro in the little world of arabica.
