The Temple of Plant-Based Indulgence in Bordeaux
Founded by Rodolphe Landemaine, the Land & Monkeys brand reimagines the great classics of French bakery and pastry in a vegan version: flaky croissants, crunchy bread, generous sandwiches, quiches, pastries, and baked goods all made without any animal-derived ingredients. Arriving in Bordeaux in September 2024 and led by Salomé, the bakery is charming an ever-growing clientele eager to blend indulgence, ethics, and innovation.

« More and more consumers are looking for food that aligns with their values, whether it’s about ethics, ecology, or health», emphasizes Mimi Bekhechi, Vice President of PETA for Europe. « With its 100% plant-based breads, dishes, and pastries, Land & Monkeys represents a modern bakery where pleasure, creativity, and commitment go hand in hand.»
A Deep-Rooted Trend Driven by Consumers
This recognition comes in the context of a significant increase in plant-based eating. In France, nearly 40% of the population claims they want to increase their consumption of plant-based products, especially to reduce environmental impact and animal suffering. Globally, the market for plant-based meat alternatives could exceed $33 billion in revenue by 2027.
