The best frangipane galette in Gironde has just been crowned close to Bordeaux!

They won gold in 2024 for the brioche galette! But there’s no resting on their laurels. The Fournil de Créon, located about 40 minutes from Bordeaux, is back in the spotlight.

The Créon bakery-patisserie, represented by its pastry chef Julien Bardinaud, proudly secured the top spot for the best frangipane galettes in Gironde during the departmental competition organized by the Federation of Artisan Bakers and Pastry Chefs of Gironde.


The star of the house is made every day with a pastry dough made with AOP Poitou-Charentes butter and almond cream prepared with AOP Poitou-Charentes butter, almond powder, homemade pastry cream, free-range eggs, and organic vanilla. "The secret to this preparation? A whole lot of love!" smiles Anthony Cloarec, the manager of the house.

The frangipane galette is available in 3 sizes: small: €15, medium: €19, and large: €24. "For a truly French finishing touch, we have chosen, as every year, artisanal porcelain figurines from the Colas Clamecy pottery, the last of its kind in France. This collection features adorable and unique little hedgehogs," they specify.

The galettes and brioche are available  throughout the month of January.
