Amicis Bordeaux, where simplicity meets excellence
In the heart of the golden triangle, at the former A Cantina location, Amicis brings a breath of fresh air and warmth to the exquisite world of Bordeaux gastronomy. Opened in April 2024, the new restaurant by Alexandre Baumard (a former Paul Bocuse chef, honored with two Michelin stars) stands out with its menu deeply rooted in fish dishes and a cozy atmosphere.

Amicis, which means "friends" in Latin, is envisioned as a table for friends where the art of dining is shared with smiles and without pretension, despite the quality and refinement of its dishes.
A concept with three faces
The secret of Amicis lies in its many facets. The lunchtime bistro offers an affordable menu at €28 or €34, featuring a selection of three starters, three main courses, and three desserts that change every week. In the evening, the experience transforms: the ground floor invites you to explore a more varied menu, while upstairs, the gastronomic restaurant stands out with a seven-course tasting menu, five of which focus on seafood, fish, and shellfish. A sensors immersion for115€, to be discovered in a timeless intimate setting.

A place of life and culinary expression
Amicis draws its identity from respecting local raw products, elevated with creativity and sauces that have become the stars of the house. The chef's best-sellers are sure to delight your taste buds: a truffle risotto that evokes palpable emotion, a subtle yet poignant tribute to the chef's grandfather, a royal hare, or a French onion soup with smoked sturgeon, a delicious reinterpretation of a classic French dish. The mackerel with caviar potatoes also makes an appearance, radiating the elegance of marine ingredients.

The recipe: style, simplicity, and sharing
With a capacity of 60 covers at lunchtime, served in as quick as 45 minutes for a quick bite or stretched to 2 hours for a delightful culinary experience, Amicis warms and softens the elite little world of haute cuisine. The atmosphere is cozy, the team (dressed in white) is impeccably kind, and intimacy is prioritized. “The idea is a relaxed gastro,” the chef shares with us, before heading off to greet guests in the dining room. The decor reflects the essence of the restaurant: simple yet exceptional with moldings, a historic staircase, and antique flooring.
With its amazing concept, Amicis quickly made its way onto the prestigious list of the best spots in the city. Proof of this is that the Michelin guide waited just a few weeks before adding it to its bible. Amen!
