Alain Ducasse melts Bordeaux

Founded in 2013 in Paris, the Alain Ducasse Chocolate Factory transforms raw cocoa beans into delicious treats with artistic craftsmanship – roasted, crushed, and worked on-site, the old-fashioned way. Led by Quentin Francis-Gaigneux, the head chocolatier, the shop pays tribute to forgotten skills at every step, using traditional machines and honoring time-honored methods.

An exceptional workshop that works the traditional way

The new Bordeaux store, located at 68 rue des Remparts, is a first for the region. Opened just before Easter, it joins a dozen locations across France, including Paris, Nice, and Cannes, and soon in Marseille.

Behind its facade facing the rue des Remparts on one side and the rue des Trois Conils on the other, a sophisticated world awaits: vintage furniture, industrial inspiration, walls adorned with molds, blown glass chandeliers, and a central display case illuminated like a piece of fine jewelry. The entire decor is designed to echo the ambiance of the Banque de France in Bordeaux with stunning replicas.

A complete range of artisanal creations

On the sweet side, the selection is abundant and represents the 4 major crafts of the Ducasse house, namely: chocolate, coffee, biscuits, and ice cream. What's on the menu? “Grand Cru” chocolate bars, boxes of ganaches and pralines, grated chocolate for hot drinks, spreads, artisanal ice creams in jars, cones, or bento (flavors include pistachio, vanilla, chocolate, or praline), and signature Ducasse coffee... Not to mention the limited edition collections, fritures, and house biscuits. The prices reflect the quality of the products: expect to pay starting from €11 for a chocolate bar, €6 for a cookie, or €20 for the spread.

All the recipes are natural, without additives or preservatives, made from beans sourced from fair-trade and committed farms. This approach is recognized by the label « Living Heritage Company ». Open every day from 10 am to 8 pm, this new Bordeaux spot is already established as a must-visit place for lovers of exceptional chocolate.
