85 new restaurants selected in total

Since 2019, the TheFork Awards have worked in a unique way: great chefs spot emerging talent, then the public decides. For this 2026 edition, 85 new restaurants, opened or taken over less than two years ago, have been selected across France by nearly 85 sponsoring chefs and godmothers representing close to 100 Michelin stars.

In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, 15 restaurants are in the running. Among them, 5 are located in Bordeaux or its metropolitan area. Here are the addresses that could win the title.

La Rencontre

When Bordeaux Meets Italy

At La Rencontre, Rosie Maillard and Francesco Vastola blend their two sensibilities in a modern Franco-Italian cuisine that's local and guided by the seasons. At lunch, the restaurant offers a complete bistronomic menu for €27. Rosie Maillard is sponsored for the Awards by Sébastien Faramond, chef of Table de Pavie.

Les Négociants: bistronomic dining facing the Grosse Cloche

Located 3 rue de Guienne, facing the Grosse Cloche, Les Négociants focuses on French bistronomic cuisine led by Antoine Conan, featuring fresh, seasonal products and a bold approach to texture play. On the wine front, the restaurant offers over 250 wine selections, from local gems to grand crus. For the TheFork Awards, the restaurant was selected by Alexandre Koa.

Luna: a contemporary bistro in the Chartrons

At 15 rue Albert-Pitres, Luna is driven by Olivier Peyronnet and Kim Buyse, who met at the double-starred restaurant Ma Langue Sourit in Luxembourg before continuing their journey in several prestigious establishments. In the Chartrons, the duo now champions refined and contemporary French cuisine, precise yet unpretentious. Olivier Peyronnet was selected by Yoann Amado, from Cercle Guiraud.

Côté Zinc: a chef between bistro and tapas

Head to the right bank, 129 avenue Thiers, where chef Élodie Pichard brings Côté Zinc to life. At lunch, a complete set menu for €24 plays the bistro card with seasonal produce; in the evening, it's all about homemade tapas, to share or not, paired with wines and cocktails. The chef was selected by Thomas L'Hérisson, from Auberge Saint-Jean.

The Presbytery Table: a new lease on life for an Eysines building

It's the newest spot in our local selection. Opening on June 8, 2026 in the former rectory of Eysines, The Presbytery Table is run by Jérémy Prévost and his partner Élodie Seixas. Modern, seasonal regional cuisine, a fun garden-style dining experience, fire pits, tapas and pétanque: the couple has created far more than just a restaurant—a genuine gathering place. The chef is mentored by Bruno Oger, a double Michelin-starred chef at La Villa Archange.

Bordeaux residents have until October 19 to vote

This time, the critics are handing over to the public. Voting is open until Monday, October 19, 2026 on the TheFork Awards website. Each participant can support their favorite restaurant to help it win the title of Best New Restaurant in France 2026.

And the circle will be particularly wonderful for Gironde restaurants: the results will be announced on November 30, 2026 in Bordeaux, which will host the TheFork Awards ceremony for the 2nd time.
