From April 25 to May 6, 2026, Bordeaux welcomes back to France Plastic Odyssey, a 40-meter ship dedicated to the fight against plastic waste. Docked at the honor pontoon, it will offer visits, activities, and exhibitions to raise awareness among the public.
A floating laboratory on the Bordeaux quays
This former oceanographic vessel transformed into an innovation platform, Plastic Odyssey carries on board a experimental recycling center as well as a mobile space to test solutions in the field. At every stop, the crew shares insights gained from three years of traveling around the world, with a clear ambition: to make recycling accessible everywhere, even in the most remote areas.
Visits and Zero Plastic Village
In Bordeaux, the public will have the chance to board the ship to explore its facilities and understand the issues related to plastic pollution. On the docks, a zero plastic village will enhance the experience with practical daily solutions: reusable items, deposit systems, sustainable alternatives… It’s the perfect opportunity to move from awareness to action.
The Bordeaux stop continues on land with several events dedicated to ecology. At the Eco-Citizen House, an exhibit ...Ion immersive traces the three years of the ship's expedition. Exciting workshops, conferences, and activities will enrich the program, including a participatory mural about the oceans on April 25 and zero waste escape games organized on April 29.
A French tour after a world tour
Bordeaux is one of the nine French stops planned by Plastic Odyssey after its mission. The ship will then continue its journey to La Rochelle, Nantes, Les Sables-d’Olonne, Lorient, Concarneau, Le Havre, and Saint-Malo.
